FAQs
Again, please contact us with ANY questions you might have.
Q. What will my child do at camp?
A. Camp is full of fun, faith, and friendship! Campers enjoy Bible lessons, worship, games, crafts, campfires, canteen, and time making new friends. Each camp offers activities designed for its age group to help campers grow closer to Jesus while making great memories. See these interviews with deans of past camps to get an idea of what your child's camp might look like!
Q. What age or grade should I register my child for?
A. Register your child based on the grade they will be entering in the fall after summer camp. We offer a variety of camps for different ages and stages. Check our camp schedule and registration page to find the best fit for your child.
Q. What should my child bring to camp?
A. Each camp has its own needs, but overnight campers should plan to bring bedding, a pillow, toiletries, towels, clothing, appropriate shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, a swimsuit, and a Bible. Be sure to check our What to Bring information on the home page and any camp-specific emails for the full packing list, which will be sent a couple of weeks before your event.
Q. What if my child gets homesick or doesn't know anyone?
That's okay if they don't know anyone! Many campers come to camp without knowing anyone, and first-time campers are always welcome. Camp is a great place to make new friends and try new things. Our goal is to help every camper feel welcomed, included, and encouraged throughout their camp experience. Our cabin moms and dads are here to help your child make friends and feel welcomed. If your child struggles with homesickness, we will offer encouragement and support as they work through it. We take homesickness seriously and won't ignore your child's struggle. If we don't see improvement, we'll contact their parent or guardian to discuss the next steps together.
Q. What is CIBC's phone and electronics policy?
A. We want campers to be present, build friendships, and enjoy their time at camp! Campers in 8th grade and under may not keep phones or electronic devices with them during camp. Devices are collected at check-in and stored in a secure, locked location. Some of our camps have a designated "phone hour." We will let you know if that applies to your child's camp before arrival.
If you need to reach your camper in an emergency, please call the camp office at 515-834-2119. Our camp phone is regularly checked so we can respond to emergencies and necessary communication.
Q. What if my child has food allergies, dietary restrictions, or takes medication?
A. Please share all relevant medical information, food allergies, dietary needs, and medications during registration. We have a nurse that will handle all medical needs (including medications) during their camp. If your child has specific needs, please contact us before camp so we can discuss them and help determine how best to prepare for your camper.
Q. How does check-in and check-out work?
A. Check-in and check-out times can vary by camp. Please watch for the information email sent before your camper's session, which will include the details you need to prepare for arrival and pick-up. If you have questions, feel free to contact the camp office.
Q. How do I register, and what if I need help paying for camp?
A. You can register through our online registration page. Create a family account, register each camper, and choose to pay in full or use the available automatic payment plan. Promo codes for camp scholarships may be available through participating churches. Contact us if you need help with registration or have questions about financial assistance.
Q. Who do I contact if I have questions before camp?
A. We are happy to help! If you have questions about your child's camp, registration, or what to expect, reach out to us. We'd love to help your family feel prepared and excited for camp!
